Cyanotypes

In the Fall of 2022 I read about Anna Atkins and the first book of photographs. I was inspired by this courageous woman who used cyanotypes to document the natural world around her. Click HERE to check out my shop with limited edition prints.

My interest in plants, flowers, and floral arranging organically led me to making my own compositions and preserving them through cyanotypes. My process is slow, sometimes taking months to find the right shapes and textures. Each plant is harvested off my own property or sourced from a local floral shop.

Cyanotypes are created using Potassium Ferricyanide and Ferric Ammonium Citrate. Mixing these chemicals together creates a photographic printing process that produces a vibrant cyan-blue print.

My work is professionally produced by a local print shop, so that your purchase supports local, small businesses. (And women owned when possible!) I use thick, ultrabright cardstock, perfect for gifts and framing.
